The top 20 individuals from the FEI World Reining Championship Team Competition went head to head in Manerbio, Italy, for the FEI Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. The $30,000 clean-slate final included eleven horse and rider combinations who had marked in excess of 220 points. Ten countries were represented in the final with Team USA rider, Jordan Larson and Lapke Quarter Horse's Lena Gallo scoring a 228 to take the FEI Gold Medal. "This is truly a dream come true", said Jordan. "It's been a team effort from day one and today, the team spirit could still be felt and I want to thank my fellow team members and Chef d'Equipe, Jeff Petska, for helping me out. I'm really fortunate to have had such a great horse to ride and want to thank the owners for giving me this wonderful opportunity".
Italy's Dario Carmignani and Pietro Angelo De Angelis' ARC Magic Enterprise marked just one point less tofinish in second for the FEI Silver Medal. Team USA representatives Craig Schmersal and Mr Dual Rey, owned by Holly Casey, and Team Italy members Gennaro Lendi and his Playing It Out both scored a 225 to tie for the FEI Bronze Medal.
The very first FEI World Reining Championship was organized by the Italian Reining Horse Association (IRHA) with the support of the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation (FISE). For the first time in the history of the sport of Reining, a world championship was held outside the WEG
