Cardinal Training Center Returns to Sponsor NRBC Open Draw Party

Cardinal Training Center Returns to Sponsor NRBC Open Draw Party

For Immediate Release:

The Open Draw Party is one of the trademark events of the National Reining Breeders Classic, which runs from April 18-24 in Katy, Texas. NRBC Secretary/Treasurer Cheryl Magoteaux Cody noted, "We've done the draw with special collectible blue finalist wine glasses for years and the festive décor of crystal and glass lights up the Texas Children's Hospital Arena Club upstairs in the Great Southwest Equestrian Center Coliseum. We are proud that Cardinal Reining Horses has again chosen to present this special night."

Cardinal Training Center is owned by Joao Marcos Arruda Pires. John Marcos, as he is known in the United States, has brought the same enthusiasm towards reining that he has in his horse racing pursuits. Cardinal Reining Horses is a spectacular facility located on 200 lush acres in Aubrey, Texas, with every amenity needed for a world class reining operation.

Cody added, "We are so pleased to have John and Cardinal Ranch remain part of the NRBC family and truly appreciate his extensive efforts to promote the international reining industry."

Home of the Legacy Sale each October, Cardinal Ranch features the largest private covered arena in the world, first class show barn, 200+ stalls, and a state of the art breeding operation with a full time veterinarian.  Shortly after purchasing the ranch, Joao Marcos worked with NRHA One Million Rider Tom McCutcheon to purchase a group of broodmares and nearly 40 of their offspring by leading stallions.  This stellar group includes some of the best performers and producers in the performance horse industry.

Cardinal Ranch exemplifies international ties developing throughout the reining industry, and serves as the training base for some of the reining industry's top trainers.  Head trainer Franco Bertolani is a Brazilian native with NRHA earnings of over $591,000 , while additional trainers include NRHA Million Dollar Rider Brian Bell, NRBC Champion and Netherlands native Ruben Vandorp, NRHA L2 Derby Champion Ann Salmon-Anderman, and winning riders and performance horse starting experts, Pierre-Luc Phaneuf, Monte Anderman and Billy Williams.
